On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Africa CEO Forum, Mahamane Sow, Vice President EDF West and Central Africa, took part in a panel dedicated to the major energy challenges facing the African continent. These were enriching exchanges with players in the sector on the conditions for universal, sustainable and inclusive access to electricity.

“Independent power producers : how to turn them into assets to accelerate electrification”. This was the title of the panel in which EDF took part, alongside Tarik Hamane, Managing Director of ONEE, and Emmanuel Mundela, West Africa Director of Meridiam, under the moderation of Amaury de Feligonde, Chairman of Okan Partners. 

Discussions focused on several key topics, including the challenges of universal access to energy, the importance of attractive regulatory frameworks to encourage investment, the role of energy transition in achieving sustainable growth, strengthening public-private partnerships and the financing mechanisms needed to accelerate infrastructure development.

Through its participation in this panel, EDF has reaffirmed its commitment to actively contribute to the energy development of the African continent and to promote greater and sustainable access to electricity.
