On Tuesday, November 5, EDF hosted students from École Polytechnique's ETRE Master's program (Renewable Energy Technologies and Entrepreneurship) for a masterclass on soft skills.
Joined by Mahamane SOW, CEO of EDF Côte d'Ivoire and sponsor of the graduating class, and Fanta Traoré, CEO of EMPOWER Talents & Career and HR professional, the students discussed the importance of cultivating soft skills in their professional lives, in addition to technical abilities.
The students were encouraged to identify their strengths and work on the skills they wish to develop in order to be more competitive in job interviews and in workplace relationships.
In addition to awarding seven scholarships to this cohort, EDF aims to help them become well-rounded and skilled professionals in the energy sector.
The ETRE Master's program was launched in 2021 by École Polytechnique and the Félix Houphouët-Boigny National Polytechnic Institute. It trains managers specialized in renewable energy in Côte d'Ivoire. The first graduating class completed their studies in 2024, with a graduation ceremony held on March 1 at the Residence of France in Abidjan, in the presence of the French Ambassador.
