The grand final of the EDF PULSE AFRICA TOUR was held in Paris on March 07, 2024. In the presence of Mr Luc Rémont, Chairman and CEO of the EDF Group, the start-up data354 won the second prize in the 5th edition of the EDF Pulse Africa awards, a competition aimed at revealing and supporting African innovators committed to the continent's low-carbon energy development.

Winner of the West Africa stage of the competition, Data354 was up against 6 other finalists from the EDF Pulse Africa Tour pre-selections. The Ivorian startup's initiative to identify biomass deposits using satellite imagery analysis earned a second place, alongside ATAREC from Morocco.

This year's trophy was won by Diwa Innovation, a company from Cameroon, thanks to its pioneering development of an autonomous refrigeration system powered by an innovative combination of solar PV technology and terracotta materials.

The EDF Pulse Africa competition demonstrates EDF's commitment to helping meet Africa's energy challenges by supporting the continent's innovative businesses.
